Album-info:

Pokémon 2BA MASTER is the first soundtrack released for the Pokémon television series in America. It has been released in many languages around the world, sometimes as Pokémon 2.B.A. MASTER.

Later releases of the album featured an extra CD, Pokémon World, incorporating the theme song of the Orange Islands portion of the series.

Excerpts of tracks two to five, and nine to ten, were shown as short music videos during the second American broadcast season of the anime, in a segment titled Pikachu's Jukebox.

Character vocals occasionally pop up in the songs, such as with "Mistys Song", and in particular during Team Rocket's song on the ninth track "Double Trouble (Team Rocket)", which is almost entirely sung by Jessie, James, Meowth, and Giovanni. One particular vocal bit in the song "Everything Changes" conflicts with the continuity of the series in that it has Brock, Misty, and Ash discussing the evolution of Ash's Metapod into Butterfree, when in fact, Brock had not yet been introduced at the time the event took place in the anime. There is also an error in the title track "2BA Master", in which the singer, upon claiming that one needs to know all the different types of Pokémon, fails to correctly list the (then) 15 types - omitting Poison and listing Fire twice (once as "Flame").

The version of "The Time Has Come" sung in this album is different from the version actually used in the episode "Pikachu's Goodbye" in the TV series: this version is in C major (the other is in A major), is sung with a female voice (the other has a male voice), contains a second verse, and has a slightly different refrain melody.

If the disc is inserted into a computer, the full PokéRAP video may be viewed as a bonus.
